from 489 reviewsIncredibly comfortable, versatile, and tough. Monty Los are THE shoe for any hiking trail, any mountain approach, any scramble up to a rock climbing cliff. I love them!
I bought this (my first) pair of Ridgemont’s days before heading to Joshua Tree for a few days. We planned out multiple hikes and stayed at a campground with 5 kids, traversing all over the rocks and uneven terrain. I was nervous about having to break them in on our trip, and also trusting the manufacturers advice to buy a half size bigger. From the moment I put them on and laced em up, I didn’t think about my feet once. The only time I was reminded that I was wearing new boots was catching a glance at the fresh color scheme and remembering. Other than that, after a full day of being on my feet, moving around, climbing and hiking, my feet felt great. I am super impressed and will definitely be a return customer.
I got these as my wear around town shoes, they are comfortable, and I always get compliments.
Very comfortable, very durable, comfortable high top style shoes.
Comfortable and great for hiking around town.
Awesome color, great fit. Very good quality. Pretty much the only causal shoes I buy. Lots of compliments
I did a big walk around the first time I wore them and they hurt me a bit, but that's just breaking in. the big test is a trip overseas and me in them a lot....walking...that's coming up next week.
I'd buy another pair but they are pricey....if i found them on sale again.
Bruh, so SEEYICK! Def opt up half size like they tell you too.
These are actually my favorite shoes now. I loved these so much I now own 4 pairs in different colors.
I ordered two Monty’s in different sizes—a 10.5 and an 11. I wasn’t sure about sizing. I tried both sizes, and they’re both comfortable. I’ve decided to keep the size 11, which is the blue one, and returned the 10.5, a green one.
Usually, I wear and run in 10.5 Nike Shoes, and they fit on the nose. The Monty in size 10.5 does fit, BUT it doesn’t give me wiggle room for all my toes. The people at Ridgemont Outfitter were right: size up. The size 11 Monty toe box provides more breathing space for my sore climbing toes. Yes, I do a lot of indoor and outdoor bouldering, and wearing these La Sportivas, Scarpas, and FiveTen climbing shoes can leave my toes banged up. So, The Monty I wear now is a blissful, chillaxing pair of shoes.
The looks? These pair came straight out of the 80s. The materials are spot on, good stitching. The hard plastic heel cupping helps a lot in stability. I would wear these while hiking to the next climbing spot or a camping area.
Just one more thing: the insoles are not any good. Too thin, and that’s a good thing. When I took out the insoles, I could see the inside; they were built to last. These shoes allow you to pick whichever insoles you can put in. I chose a Surefeet low-rise insoles. Now they’re incredibly comfortable.
This is a very handsome shoe design w plenty of color pop to get the complements coming! Followed the recommended .5 size increase when ordering and was correct for my normally size 9, was a good fit for the 9.5
So far I love em. I’ll put them to the test soon and see how they hold up👍
